💐 Spring is in full bloom at Mall St. Vincent, and it’s feeling a little extra magical this year!

The Enchanted Spring Garden is now open through May 10 (just in time for Mother’s Day), offering a sweet, simple way to make memories with your favorite people. You can stroll through a whimsical garden setup, snap some beautiful photos, and let the kids enjoy fun, hands-on activities, perfect for creating something special for Mom. You’ll find it all in Center Court by the pond, making it an easy stop during your day.

On May 5, they’re hosting a Cinco de Mayo appreciation event from 11 AM to 3 PM at the management office. Expect festive bites, lively vibes, and a warm thank-you to the community while supplies last.

Hosted by Community Foundation of North Louisiana, Give for Good is a 24-hour giving event supporting nonprofits across our community. It’s an easy way to make a real impact, no matter the amount.

🎨 Kadavien Baylor Does It Again

Local artist KaDavien Baylor is back at it, adding another stunning mural to his growing collection across Shreveport. Known for transforming blank walls into meaningful, eye-catching art, his latest piece can now be found in the Far End District, bringing fresh color and energy to the area. Baylor continues to use his talent to reflect community pride and creativity, one mural at a time, making his work a true local treasure in the city’s growing art scene.

🌮 Taco Wars 2026 Recap

Taco Wars 2026 brought a packed crowd downtown Shreveport for a full day of flavor, fun, and community voting. Local favorites showed up strong, but a few stood out from the rest.

🏆 Winners:

Best Taco: La Reyna del Sur- 1896 Airline Dr
Best Salsa: Ramirez Mexican Restaurant

From bold spices to fresh ingredients, both winners earned their spot with crowd-favorite flavors that kept people coming back for more. It was another strong year with record numbers for Shreveport’s local food scene and a true celebration of community pride.

Congratulations to Calvary Lady Cavs and North Desoto Lady Griffins softball teams! These ladies are entering this week as STATE CHAMPIONS!

Shreveport City Council is working to launch a pilot domestic violence center to help connect survivors with shelter, counseling, transportation, and other support when they need it most.

First Baptist Haughton’s Serve Day recently brought people together to help out in the community through simple acts of service, faith, and lending a helping hand

Bossier Parish Community College was named a Top 10 Most Admired College for Health Professions, recognizing its strong healthcare training and student career preparation programs.

Bossier City is working on a partnership to keep Mike Wood Pool open this summer, improving operations so the community can continue using it.

Antioch Baptist Church in Shreveport celebrated its 160th anniversary, honoring a long history rooted in faith, resilience, and community impact since its founding in 1866.
