Trivia gift cards are falling out of the sky...

TOGETHER WITH

☀️SBC! This week we’ve got it all — skydiving, theater shows, local events, and a trivia question that might just trip you up (unless you’ve been eating hush puppies since ’87). Quick tidbit: the Par 3 Course is opening this week (7/31) at Chasing Aces.

Also… just found out the KTBS Travel Club exists. How? Why didn’t anyone tell us? Do they offer punch cards or just plane snacks?

In this edition, we’ll shine light on:

  • Jumping out of a perfectly good airplane

  • Where to find school supply events

  • An old, historical theater has been revitalized

Let’s get our shine on! ☀️

Partnered with Skydive Louisiana

Jump at 10,000 ft.!

Ever thought, “You know what sounds fun? Jumping out of a perfectly good airplane!” Well, turns out-you’re not alone. Enter Skydive Louisiana, where the views are breathtaking, the adrenaline is real, and the owner, Bill Geaslin, is just crazy enough (in the best way) to make it all happen.

Skydive Louisiana is the oldest and longest running skydive operation in the state. Just 20 miles north of Shreveport, it offers a one-of-a-kind view where Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas all meet, putting the “Ark-La-Tex” on full display from 10,000 feet up!

They’ve trained thousands of jumpers, including members of the U.S. Army’s Golden Knights and the Air Force’s Wings of Blue. Skydive LA is open by appointment only, and new jumpers must be 18 or older and under 230 pounds.

More than just a thrill, this drop zone has some serious bragging rights. Members have set multiple Louisiana state records and even a few world records. If you’re looking for adventure, this is your sign to jump in. 🪂

Ready to take the leap? Bill and his sky-high crew are waiting! ✈️

📸 Shreveport is adding six surveillance cameras to Ford Park to improve safety and reduce vandalism.

☕️ Youree Dr. is getting its own Dutch Bros (a Louisiana first)- clearly, we take our caffeine very seriously.

🍽️ A fresh dining experience is coming to Shreveport! A new restaurant plans to rotate its chef and menu every 90 days - keeping things bold, creative, and never boring.

📱 Louisiana is set to roll out a new hands‑free driving law on August 1, 2025, that prohibits virtually all phone use behind the wheel.

😎 Starting August 1, Louisiana says it’s okay to throw a little more shade—legally! The new law lets you tint your front windows down to 25%, so your car can finally match your teenager’s attitude.
