TOGETHER WITH

☀️SBC! We hope you had an amazing Fourth of July weekend filled with good food, fireworks, and time with the people you love.

We're so thankful to call this city, this state, and this country home, and we're even more grateful to share this little corner of the internet with all of you. ❤️🇺🇸

In this issue, we’ll shine light on:

  • USA gains new citizens

  • Shreveport Cooling Stations

  • Weekly Event Updates

Let’s get our shine on!

🐱 Come here, you. Virtual cat hug incoming.

If you've ever spotted a stray cat around town and wished you knew how to help, Casper's Cats is making a real difference right here in our community. Their volunteer-led Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program humanely traps community cats, gets them spayed or neutered and vaccinated, then safely returns them to their familiar outdoor homes. This helps prevent countless unwanted litters while improving the health of the cats and reducing overpopulation.

The organization relies on donations and volunteers to keep its mission going, and every dollar truly makes an impact. Whether you can donate, volunteer, or simply spread the word, you're helping create a better future for our furry neighborhood friends. So, consider this your official cat hug and maybe a gentle reminder that kindness can have whiskers, too. 🩷

Planning a trip? Schedule your cleaning around your travel dates and come home to the clean house you deserve.

☀️ This Week’s Happy Highlights

Welcome, New Citizens!

Thirty-five people officially became U.S. citizens during a naturalization ceremony at Shreveport's Strand Theater. Just days before America's 250th birthday, the milestone made the celebration even more meaningful. Congratulations to our newest citizens, and welcome to both America and the Shreveport community!

Shreveport Police Department's Latest Promotions

Congratulations to the Shreveport Police Department's newest leaders!

Lieutenant Gabriel Horton
Sergeant Adam McEntee
Sergeant John Lee
Sergeant Rodney Medlin

These men were recently promoted, recognizing their dedication, leadership, and years of service. THANK YOU for your continued commitment to keeping our community safe.

Temps are Dangerous- Share to Help

Take note of the local cooling stations, and if you don’t need them, please share! There are definitely others that do!

Side Notes & City Talk

Pickleball fans, get ready! Louisiana’s State Championship is headed to Bossier City this October, bringing great competition, lots of energy, and plenty of reasons to cheer.

Beginning July 10, expect intermittent overnight closures near the Jimmie Davis Bridge as crews install bridge girders, marking another major step toward the new four-lane crossing.

The Bossier Parish Police Jury received a $1,500 humanities mini grant to enhance the America 250 Time Capsule display and added special touches to Freedom Fest, celebrating local history and community pride.

Bossier City unveiled its new "A City on the Move" brand, a community-wide initiative celebrating the city's growth, momentum, and vision for the future.
