Heavy Hearts but Hope Rising

TOGETHER WITH
☀️SBC- full transparency, this edition is by far the hardest one I’ve had to write. Our community is hurting, but we can’t stay silent and still in moments like these. We must show up.
Before you scroll, please tell us how you’d like to do that. We’ll use this to organize where support is needed most this week. I thank you in advance- God bless.
How are you most likely to support our community right now? |
In this issue, we’ll shine light on:
Where to send your new prescription
Love the Boot Week officially kicks off
Bright Side Smarts winner announced
Let’s get our shine on!
Sponsored by Apotheworx

If you live around SBC, you know how it goes: one minute it’s spring, the next it’s full-on summer heat sneaking in. The pollen may start to settle, but allergy season doesn’t always get the memo. Between lingering sniffles, itchy eyes, and that never-ending dust, it can still feel like a battle.
That’s where local gems like Apotheworx come in. They focus on personalized wellness, offering allergy support tailored to your body with natural remedies, supplements, and custom solutions to help you feel like yourself again.
As we roll into summer, it’s a good reminder to take care of yourself and support a local business that’s all about keeping our community feeling its best.

In Partnership with The Mobility Doctor
Ever stand up and sound like a bowl of Rice Krispies? You’re in good company.
That’s exactly where Dr. Jeremy Sutton, known as The Mobility Doctor, steps in. He brings concierge physical therapy straight to you, whether you’re at home, the office, or the gym, so getting care actually fits your life.
From mobility work and injury recovery to fall prevention, hands-on manual therapy, and even therapeutic massage, the focus is simple: help you move better, feel stronger, and keep doing what you love without your body holding you back.

☀️ This Week’s Happy Highlights
OTBS + NCCF Kick-Off Love the Boot Week

Over the weekend, On the Bright Side had the privilege of organizing a public cleanup event sponsored and hosted by No Ceilings CrossFit. Gym members and other locals met up and left Anderson Ave better than they found it!
Thank you to ALL the volunteers and NCCF for a great space for the community!
Research Growth Boom

Big growth is underway at LSU Health Shreveport! With 18 new research faculty and over $20 million in funding, they’re expanding fast, so fast they’ve outgrown current lab space. Plans are in motion to transform the old Mall St. Vincent Sears into a cutting-edge research hub, supporting LSU’s push toward Top 50 status.
Women Supporting Kids Together

Women from across the area gathered at The Simple Church for a fun, uplifting lunch supporting Gingerbread House Child Advocacy Center. The “Ladies Who L.U.N.C.H.” event mixed connection, inspiration, and giving back, raising support for children in crisis while encouraging women to make a difference.
