No weekend plans? Come join Father's Day Backyard BBQ & Juneteenth Celebration at Mall St. Vincent on June 19-20!
This two-day community event brings together great food, local businesses, entertainment, and plenty of opportunities to connect with neighbors while celebrating both Father's Day and Juneteenth. Whether you're honoring a special dad in your life, supporting local vendors, or simply looking for something fun to do, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Attendees can browse local vendors, grab a bite from food trucks, enjoy live entertainment, and take part in family-friendly activities throughout the weekend (plus we heard they are giving away a GRILL and a men’s watch!) Get more info on their Facebook Page linked below!

In Partnership with Jefferson Family & Relationship Institute
THIS SATURDAY, the Jefferson Family & Relationship Institute will host the free Rise & Restore Domestic Violence Awareness Walk/Run at 📍Pamoja Park in Downtown Shreveport.
This community event focuses on awareness, healing, prevention, and education while connecting attendees with valuable resources, speakers, food trucks, and family-friendly activities. OTBS is proud to volunteer at this event and invite our readers to join us in supporting survivors, strengthening families, and helping create healthier, safer futures for our community.
Community Resource of the Week
Geaux 4 Kids is a Louisiana nonprofit that steps in when children are suddenly placed in crisis or foster care. Based in Bossier City, they provide “Geaux Bags” filled with essentials like clothes, toiletries, snacks, and comfort items to help kids feel safe and cared for during a scary, uncertain time.
Geaux 4 Kids partner with local agencies and law enforcement to make sure no child goes without basic needs in those first critical hours, offering comfort, dignity, and a little bit of hope when it’s needed most.
