TOGETHER WITH
☀️SBC! Good things are popping up all over town this week. From ways our community is coming together to support local families, to artists getting a fresh chance to help fill a brand-new gallery space, there’s a lot happening worth sharing.
In this issue, we’ll shine light on:
Successful Picture Day for All
Introducing a new OTBS section
How you can help with the April 19th tragedy
Let’s get our shine on!

“Summer travel is right around the corner, and if it’s been on your mind… this is your sign. It’s not too late to plan something really special, but now is the moment to make a few key decisions that shape the entire experience.
The magic isn’t in overpacking your itinerary, it’s in choosing the right place to stay, securing those can’t-miss reservations, and giving yourself a framework that still allows for spontaneity. A beautiful hotel in a walkable location, mornings that start slow, dinners you’re genuinely excited about… that’s what people remember.
If you’re feeling behind, don’t. Some of the best trips come together in this window, especially if you’re open to a slight shift in dates or a destination that isn’t the obvious choice. There are still incredible options out there, they just need a thoughtful approach.
And if you’re looking for inspiration, keep an eye on my socials this week. I’m sharing a Savannah travel guide from my recent stay at Hotel Bardo, and it’s the kind of easy, elevated getaway that feels like a true escape without leaving the country. A quick hop, endlessly charming, and one of those destinations that surprises you in the best way.
Consider this your nudge, we still have time to make summer happen… and make it unforgettable.”

In Partnership with Picture Day for All

OTBS had the honor of assisting Volunteers of Youth Justice this past weekend, partnering with Picture Day for All to serve foster children, at-risk youth, and families. Through community-funded professional portraits, over 700 special moments have already been captured.
And honestly… getting to meet some of these foster families was the best part. The sweetest smiles and the best volunteer team you can ask for.
With a year-round donation effort in place, we’re proud to help them reach as many kids as possible and continue creating meaningful, confidence-building memories across our community. Sponsor a child for just $25 through the link below!
Community Resource of the Week
If you’ve got a kid who needs a confidence boost (and maybe a little extra encouragement), Surfari Pals is doing something really special. They use fun, surf-themed lessons to teach things like kindness, goal setting, and responsibility in a way kids actually get. It’s upbeat, positive, and all about helping kids grow into confident, capable little humans, both in school and in life.

The Bossier Arts Council is kicking off its next chapter with a community-driven exhibit, “We’ve Got Your BAC.” Local artists are invited to submit 2–3 pieces of existing work (any medium) to help fill the new gallery space.
Work may be for sale or display but must be installation ready. An active BAC membership is required to participate.
Selected pieces will be featured for the Grand Opening on May 5 and remain on display through June 1.
