Let’s get our shine on! ☀️

Partnered with Shreveport Citizens United

Shreveport Citizens United (SCU) is on a mission to bring people together across every neighborhood, background, and walk of life by building bridges between citizens, nonprofits, churches, city leaders, and law enforcement. One of the most exciting ways they do this is through their Neighborhood Resource Rallies .

These rallies aren’t just about resources; they’re about building relationships. They’re a fun, uplifting time filled with opportunities to meet your SBC neighbors, share a laugh, and enjoy good company. Families connect with local nonprofits, kids enjoy face painting and games, and neighbors walk away with both helpful tools and new friendships. Behind the scenes, volunteers make it all happen: cooking, serving, setting up, and welcoming folks with open arms.

✨ Next Neighborhood Resource Rally: West Cedar Grove ✨
📍 Woodlawn/ Leadership Academy
📅 Saturday, September 13
⏰ 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Meet Your Neighbor

🌟Local Spotlight: Ca’Treaveon “Trey” Fergerson 🌟

At 20 years old (HAPPY BIRTHDAY TREY!), Ca’Treaveon “Trey” Fergerson has already stepped boldly into his calling. A devoted man of faith, Trey accepted his call to ministry at the age of 16 and now serves as a youth minister at First Baptist Church of Cedar Grove. With a heart for guiding the next generation, he pours his energy into teaching, mentoring, and inspiring local youth to walk in faith and purpose.

A 2023 graduate of Magnolia School of Excellence, Trey is also a hard-working young entrepreneur. He’s the founder of Shots by Trey and More, LLC, offering photography, custom T-shirts, and DJ services, all while balancing work at Winfield Funeral Home and Sports South.

But at the center of it all is Trey’s love for the Lord and his community. Whether he’s behind the pulpit, behind a camera, or behind the turntables, Trey is driven by one mission: to serve others with joy and dedication. Thank you for setting a great example, Trey! 🎉

LSUS Breaks Ground on Pedestrian Bridge ✨

Big news out of LSUS! The campus just broke ground on a brand-new pedestrian bridge that will connect Pilots Pointe Apartments directly to campus. Not only will this make the walk safer for students, but it’s also a $4.3 million investment in campus life and convenience. We love seeing projects like this that make student life just a little brighter (and a lot easier!).
