Let’s get our shine on!

Many travelers wonder how working with a travel advisor works. The Balanced Boarding Pass offers clarity and support at every level.

If clients already know where they want to stay and which flights they prefer, booking through Balanced Boarding Pass is complimentary. The advisor is paid directly by hotel partners and suppliers, so there is no additional cost. Clients receive the same rates they see publicly, often with added perks such as daily breakfast, potential room upgrades, hotel credits, and priority treatment. International business travelers also have access to a 24/7 flight desk for mid-journey changes.

For full itinerary planning, including multi-day trips, island hopping, winery visits, sightseeing, private transfers, restaurant reservations, and curated tours, Balanced Boarding Pass charges a $150 planning fee. This ensures a seamless experience, fine-tuned timing, and careful handling of details that would otherwise take hours of research and coordination.

The goal is simple: save clients time, elevate their experience, and anticipate issues before they happen. Travel should feel exciting, not overwhelming.

More information and sample itineraries are available at balancedboardingpass.com.

New Domestic Violence Center Coming to Shreveport

A new domestic violence support center will soon open inside the North Market Street Shreveport Police substation, giving victims a safer, dedicated place to get help, file protective orders, and access resources. Local leaders, including the police chief, district attorney, and sheriff, are announcing the initiative as part of broader efforts to better support survivors and streamline assistance services in the community.

Gala Raises Big for Cancer Patient Housing

The annual “Life Savers” gala recently raised more than $200,000 to support the Feist‑Weiller Cancer Center, with proceeds dedicated to renovating the McDade House to provide hospitality housing for patients undergoing cancer treatment. Community members and supporters gathered to celebrate the cause and help ensure patients and families have a comfortable place to stay while receiving care.

Side Notes & City Talk

🏈 Louisiana Rouxgaroux, SBC’S new arena football team, kicks off their first game of the season this month (Feb 28th to be exact). Check out the season schedule and snag your tickets!

🚧 DOTD announced a $692,698 project to repair damaged concrete panels on LA 511 (W. 70th St) in Shreveport. Work began February 18, 2026, with intermittent lane closures expected through May.

💻 Shreveport artists raised concerns about AI use by the Shreveport Regional Arts Council. The council held a forum last week to discuss next steps.

🥳 A lifelong Shreveport resident, Colleen Hamm, celebrated her 100th birthday at Azalea Estates Assisted Living, surrounded by friends and family. Her milestone honors a life rooted in the Shreveport community she’s called home for decades.

🤞🏽 The Bossier Arts Council may be evicted from the Old Municipal Building after missing state financial reporting requirements. The city council will review the situation before deciding the organization’s future. (Fingers crossed they get this figured out.)
