90’s Babies will dominate Trivia this week... without looking.

TOGETHER WITH

☀️SBC! Before we dive into the usual sunshine, we want to pause and recognize the devastating flooding that hit South Texas over the July 4th holiday. The amount of loss so many families have experienced is truly unfathomable, and I would be remise if I did not mention it and provide an easy way to help.

Donations can be made through the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country using the link below. Thank ya’ll in advance!

In this week’s edition, we’ll shine light on:

  • Getting your personal and professional finances in order

  • Let’s show you off

  • Cast you trivia vote for your chance to win!

Let’s get our shine on! ☀️

When your receipts are overflowing and your brain is buffering at tax time, Single Source Business Solutions swoops in like the spreadsheet superheroes they are. Based in Shreveport, this all-in-one accounting and notary service helps individuals and small businesses with bookkeeping, payroll, taxes, and more—all without the confusing jargon or corporate cold shoulder.

Co-founders Daniel Sant and Bob Thames built the business on the belief that every client deserves personalized service and a little peace of mind. Or as Bob puts it, “At the end of the day, we’re problem solvers!”

From mobile notary services that come to you (yes, please) to tax filing that doesn’t require aspirin, they keep things smooth, stress-free, and even kind of fun. 💼

☀️ This Week’s Happy Highlights

⚡ Glowin’ Strong at 113! ⚡

SWEPCO just lit up a piece of Shreveport history! To mark its 113th anniversary, the company restored its iconic neon sign atop the old Arsenal Hill power station—now updated with energy-efficient LEDs. This glowing landmark once crowned one of the tallest buildings in the city, and now it’s shining bright again as a symbol of progress, heritage, and hometown pride.

📊 LEAP Scores Are In for NWLA Schools!

The 2024–2025 LEAP results were just released, and schools across Northwest Louisiana are showing some encouraging progress! (Now, I’m not saying I did a ton of in-depth research, but I find it pleasantly odd the ‘no cell phones in class’ law became effective for the 2024-2025 school year. Coincidence? 🧐)

Bossier Parish saw improvements in English Language Arts for several grade levels, DeSoto Parish made big gains in math and science, and students with disabilities across the state hit their highest scores yet. That’s something to celebrate! Great job teachers and students!
